From Enrollment to Graduation

Registration

  • Registration fees must be paid by the due date in each term.
  • New and transferring students : entrance and tuition fees, Current students : tuition fees

Course Registration

  • The minimum and maximum credits allowed for each term are 12 credits and 20 credits, respectively. The maximum credits allowed for students in the departments of Education, Oriental Health Care Herbal Pharmaceutical Science and Nursing are 21 credits.
  • Early graduation applicants and students with a grade point average of over 4.2 may register for 3 more credits than the maximum credits allowed.
  • Students who received a GPA warning in the previous term will be restricted from registering for more than 15 credits.

Exams/Grades

  • There are regular, non-scheduled, additional and special exams.
  • Students must attend more than 3/4 of the scheduled classes to receive a grade. Failure to meet the attendance requirement will result in an “F.”
  • Students are graded based on the “relatively evaluation system.” In principle, up to 30% of the students will receive an “A,” up to 40% will receive a “B,” and at least 30% will receive a grade between “C” and “F.”

Leave of Absence/Returning Students/Voluntary Drop-out/Expulsion/Re-admission

  • Leave of absence : A student who cannot continue his/her studies due to a health problem or an unavoidable reason may submit an application form for leave of absence and obtain the approval of the President of Joongbu University in order to take a leave of absence.
  • Returning students : A student whose leave period has lapsed or whose reason for the leave of absence is no longer valid must submit an application form to return to school. A student who wishes to return to school prior to the end date of his/her leave period may do so.
  • Voluntary drop-out : A student who wishes to discontinue his/her studies and drop out of the university should obtain the approval of the President of Joongbu University.
  • Expulsion : A student who falls under the conditions necessitating expulsion will be expelled from the university.
  • Re-admission :A student who dropped out, failed to register or failed to return within the designated time may submit an application form for re-admission, provided that 10 years have not lapsed since the drop-out date or the designated registration/return date.

Double Majors (Minors) / Change of Major

  • Double major :Students are permitted to major in two or three disciplines to obtain two or three degrees.
  • Change of Major : In accordance with the Academic Regulations and Regulations on School Register Change, students are allowed to change their major (for one time only) in order to ensure that they complete a program that suits their aptitude and skills.
    Students can change to any major offered by the university, unless such transfer is not permitted by the department.

Teacher education courses

  • Eligibility : A 2ndyearstudentwhowishestocompletetheteachertrainingprogramforhis/hermajor.
  • Application period : Within the designated period announced at the beginning of the first term (2ndyearstudent)
  • Application method :Fill out the application form for the program for teaching profession and submit it to the Dept. of Educational Affairs via the Administration Office of his/her department of major.

Graduation

  • Various graduation requirements will be reviewed for assessment: number of credits obtained, completion of refinement course credits, completion of basic and essential refinement courses, and completion of the intensive major courses.
  • A graduation certificate (degree) is only given to students who have completed the required program and passed the graduation thesis evaluation or examination.
